Dedicated modders in the Sonic the Hedgehog community have released a comprehensive mod for the PC version of 2011’s Sonic Generations, replacing the game’s cast with characters from Nintendo’s.
Super Sonic Generations is a mod for Sonic Generations, created by JoeTE.
Description:
In this PC-exclusive graphics mod for Sonic Generations, 'Super' Forms are the norm. And then the game actually plays a bit differently once you start using skills and the Hyper Sonic transformation...
Features:
The models for Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Classic Tails, Modern Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, and Blaze have been modified, making them resemble their Super Forms (or Burning Form, in Blaze's case.)
Classic Metal Sonic's model has been changed into a 'Classic' version of Neo Metal Sonic (from Sonic Heroes.)
The Acceleration skill gives a much greater Speed increase than it does in the un-modded game.
The Barrier, Ring Time, Power Sneakers, and the 3 elemental shields can all be used 5 times within a single stage, instead of only once or twice.
Modern 'Super' Sonic can now utilize the Barrier, Ring Time, Power Sneakers, Invincible Start, and the 3 Elemental Shield skills. Do note that Modern 'Super' Sonic is unable to utilize the extra 'jumps' granted by the Elemental Shields.
The 'Super Sonic' skill has been changed into a 'Hyper Sonic' skill. Upon collecting 50 rings while using this skill, either version of 'Super' Sonic can use the Super Emeralds to transform into Hyper Sonic (from Sonic 3 & Knuckles.) Hyper Sonic is a LOT faster than normal, and only loses 1 ring every second (instead of losing 2 or 4 rings per second.) However, the increased speed can make Hyper Sonic a bit more difficult to control.
A vast majority of the game's HUD assets have been remade at a higher resolution, making them look better at 1080p/1440p. Additionally, most HUD assets have been modified to match up with the altered character models.
The 'Super Sonic Generations: Lite Version' is similar to the Full Version, but with none of the NPC models altered, and with only a small portion of the game's HUD assets have been remade. It's suitable for use alongside custom stage mods.
Additionally, the 'Super Sonic Generations: Save File' mod includes 10 normally impossible skill sets. A list of those is included in the mod's README text file.
To install the mod Sonic Generations you have to use SonicGMI.

If you press Key combination LookBehind, Jump and Accelerate (in my case for example C+Space+W) while you sit in a plane, it will automatically be added to the supported aircraft list! (You will be notified by a message above the map)
Enter one of those jets, retract the landing gear, and wait a bit for the afterburner to unleash its full potential! (Afterburner kicks in, if you reach the speed AFTERBURNER_MIN_SPEED which is specified in the XML-file)

You can change the the maximum speed you can achieve with your aircraft as multiple of Mach 1 (= 340.29 m/s = 1234.8 km/h = 767.269 mph). It is called 'V_MAX' in the XML file.
You can also change the jets acceleration multiplier. It is called 'ACCELERATION_MULTIPLIER' inside the XML file.
Try to experiement with these values!
Every feature is toggleable in the XML file.
This includes:
• The Afterburner exhaust heat effect (AFTERBURNER_HEAT_EFFECT)
• The Afterburner kick In sound (AFTERBURNER_KICK_IN_SOUND)
• The Super Sonic Boom animation effect (SUPER_SONIC_BOOM_ANIMATION)
• The Super Sonic Boom sound effect (SUPER_SONIC_BOOM_SOUND)
There is a minimum speed option for the Afterburner kick in in m/s (default = 66.67 m/s = 240 km/h = 149.129 mph).
If you are below this speed with running Afterburner, the Afterburner turns off and has to kick in again
In the XML it is called 'AFTERBURNER_MIN_SPEED'
'MAX_HEIGHT' option determines the maximum height your aircraft can reach. After reaching that height, your aircraft won't accelerate anymore. It has the unit meter.
If you want your engine to never shut down, which results in better manveurability at low speed, there is also a XML option for that:
ENGINE_NEVER_SHUTS_DOWN.
If this option is enabled, you can slow the aircraft down without shutting the engine down what results in a stall
With this you can fly like you have cruise control!:
CRUISE_CONTROL_MODE.
If this option is enabled, your aircraft will keep its speed, after you release the accelerator or braking key.
I recommend to use this mod with a speedometer mod!
INSTALLATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Unzip the downloaded file and put the files
• Super_Sonic.dll
• NAudio.dll and the folder
• Super_Sonic (with its contents)
into your scripts directory. If you don't have a 'scripts' directory inside your main game directory, create it manually.

If you want your engine to never shut down, which results in better manveurability at low speed, there is also a XML option for that:
ENGINE_NEVER_SHUTS_DOWN.
If this option is enabled, you can slow the aircraft down without shutting the engine down what results in a stall
With this you can fly like you have cruise control!:
CRUISE_CONTROL_MODE.
If this option is enabled, your aircraft will keep its speed, after you release the accelerator or braking key.
I recommend to use this mod with a speedometer mod!
INSTALLATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Unzip the downloaded file and put the files
• Super_Sonic.dll
• NAudio.dll and the folder
• Super_Sonic (with its contents)
into your scripts directory. If you don't have a 'scripts' directory inside your main game directory, create it manually.
